minima wins dti furniture competition

Bespoke timber lighting and furniture design company, minima, scooped first prize in the established designer category of the annual Department of Trade and Industry National Furniture Competition. Its theme was “Future Public Spaces” and students and established designers were invited to submit a seating and waiting solution for public spaces such as airports, health institutions, municipalities and other government entities that interact with the public in one way or another.

minima created a free form bench designed using complex geometry and its signature clip-together, profiled ribs. As part of its win, minima will exhibit the bench at the Inspire trade show in Johannesburg in June.
